Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)

Globaltraining is a tuition provider for the Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB).

CFAB is ideal for anyone who either works, or wants to work, in business or practice including school leavers and university graduates.

Course Objectives

CFAB is a perfect choice if you are:

  • seeking general knowledge of finance, accounting and business
  • considering a career in accountancy or finance
  • studying for a degree or undertaking an internship, summer break or a gap year
  • working in, or supporting a professional or financial service firm or the public sector
  • in a senior non-finance role with a need to understand the fundamentals of finance
  • keeping your career options open, or returning to work

Credits are available to those who hold relevant qualifications. Credits can be used for up to five modules.

The Accounting module is compulsory as employers prefer students to have a common level of understanding of the Accounting module. Therefore credit for prior learning is not available for the Accounting module.

Course Structure

CFAB is made up of six modules, the same modules of the ICAEW’s premier accounting qualification, the ACA which also means CFAB can be used as a stepping stone.

Examination Rules

  • Can be gained in one year.
  • Modules can be taken in any order, although the Accountancy module is compulsory.
  • Assessment is via computer-based one and a half hour e-assessment exam.
  • The exams are available all year round and can be booked with Pearson Vue who can run the assessments at the local Pearson Vue test centre.
  • Can be used as an entry-route into the ICAEW’s premier accounting qualification, the ACA.
